Sinkaos vs D4H: an established readiness platform and a newer take on the loop
D4H has been building readiness and incident software since 2008, and search and rescue, fire and industrial emergency teams use it. Sinkaos is a younger product in early access. The comparison below gives D4H full credit, and covers when to pick it.
Two products for response teams, at very different stages
D4H was founded in 2008 by Robin Blandford, drawing on his own Coast Guard experience, and is headquartered in Dublin. EcoOnline acquired it in June 2025. D4H counts more than 100,000 responders in over 37 countries, and its customer stories include British teams such as Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue and Solent Rescue.
The product line is modular: Personnel and Training, Equipment Management, Incident Reporting, Incident Management and Alerting. The Help Center places the first three on its Team Manager platform and Incident Management on Operations Center. Most modules come in Basic, Advanced, Professional and Enterprise plans.
Sinkaos is a field-operations workspace from a small independent team in the Czech Republic. It follows one loop from knowing your ground through planning, resourcing, training, the operation and debrief, and every stage works from the same world model.

Where the two take different approaches
D4H, Sinkaos, or both
Choose D4H when
You want a proven product now. It has a long record in search and rescue, a body of customer stories you can check, and implementation support.
Choose D4H when
Your priority is call-outs. SMS, phone calls, WhatsApp and two-way replies with response windows are all documented, and Sinkaos does not list SMS or phone alerts.
Choose D4H when
You need an ISO 27001 certificate today, ISRID lost person data or cost recovery.
Choose D4H when
You are a fully volunteer team. Its grant programme covers the majority of costs for 100% volunteer teams, and you can start with one module.
Choose Sinkaos when
You plan with alternatives and want rosters, exercises and debriefs to work from those plans, in one workspace.
Choose Sinkaos when
You work where signal fails for hours or on a closed network, and need offline-first apps and a local field server.
Choose Sinkaos when
You need your own servers, or want to help shape a young product with a small team, and accept what early access means.
Use both when
D4H already holds your personnel records and works well. Sinkaos connects to the staff systems teams already use and D4H has a documented API, so ask us whether a link fits your setup.
